Rome is Italy's largest and most populous city and stands on top of more than two and a half thousand years of history. Rome is still the heart of Christianity, being seat of the Roman Catholic Church which controls the Vatican City as its sovereign territory, an enclave of Rome. ·         Colosseum

The Colosseum is probably the most impressive building of the Roman Empire, the monumental structure has fallen into ruins, but even today it is an imposing and beautiful sight. Any history lover will love the story of its fascinating history, it is a must see when visiting Rome. 

·         St. Peter’s Basilica

St. Peter’s Basilica is the centre of Christianity, it is the largest church in the world, and it has a 218-meter long nave. The basilica's dome is a must see and is the largest dome in the world measuring 42m in diameter and reaching 138 meter high. The interior, which includes 45 altars, is decorated by many famous artists, and is a must see when in Rome.

Situated at the Campidoglio Square on top of the Capitoline Hill, the Capitoline Museums are a must see for any visitor, a fabulous day out for anyone, history lovers or not, Capitoline Museums house some of Rome’s most fabulous treasures.

The world’s smallest country, Vatican City occupies 0.44 sq km and serves as the spiritual centre for millions of practicing Roman Catholics worldwide. You have to go to Vatican City when visiting Rome, it has a fascinating history to take in and there is a chance to hear blessings from the Pope on St. Peter’s Square.
